I used to work for the Aurora Police Department. The citizens there really don't want people coming in to town in the well marked and obvious 35 mph and 25 mph speed zones. I wrote hundreds of tickets there and was completely comfortable with that. It's about keeping people safe. Don't want a ticket? Don't speed

To the last comment regarding the dysfunctional nature of the Police Department...The Chief is the longest standing employee in the city and beat the former mayor who wanted him fired fair and square. You also mention the Fire Department, talk about a sham...The top officials in the Fire Department are all related...now that is nepotism at its finest. Please tell me why should the citizens of this town put up with other driving through at unsafe speeds, committing crimes and other malfeasants, do you? As far as the court and judge are concerned, if you lose you can appeal to the Circuit Court at either place there is no "reasonalbe doubt" requirement it is on the preponderance (more likely than not) of the evidence requirement. I recommend doing a little research the next time you post. Have a wonderful day and drive safe.

The whole town is a speedtrap from all three points. 641 people and they have a police dept. it's a joke along with it's cheif who the city spent $thousands to fire and couldn't. The town and fire dept. don't want it. It has poisoned the town into disfuntionality. 2 mayors recalled in 10 years. That's disfunction.I can't believe such blatant lack of due process exist in America every Tuesday at the American Legion Hall. The Legion should toss the the whole sham gang, judge, chief and no allowing of reasonable doubt process out the door and contract the county to patrol. The whole area knows it and it's an ongoing farce. Do not speed here at all.

Regarding the intersection between 99E and this road: I'm glad there's a light now. One officer gave my hubby a ticket a few years ago for not stopping, although he did, because he had a shift stick at the time and after he stopped, rolled back to move forward between gears. From where the cop was, he couldn't even see a car at the stop sign. The whole thing was ridiculous. Talk about filling quotas. They judge there was laughable. A town that small should not have a court, it's almost comedic.

Another one is off Ehlen Road on Airport Road, about a 1/4 mile heading north in the 35 mph zone, they sit just inside this dirtroad where you cant see them till you pass, be careful on Airport Road in Aurora, mostly in the mornings and evenings.

This trap listing is very accurate. Forget about fighting it in court. Kangaroo court is held in Woodburn if County mounty get you. Same judge works Aurora city hearing and county court. Judge, officer and no procecutor or court recorder. If you have a bad record, chances are your fine will be increased.
