Speed Trap at Interstate 295, Washington, DC
- Washington, DC
-
0
- Latitude: 38.8758
- Longitude: -76.9694
- Description: This speed trap runs Northbound and Southbound. The Northbound trap takes place right after passing the onramp for the 11th Street Bridge. About 1/10 of a mile after passing it, you can see the Law sitting in a cruiser on the side of the road. If you're proceeding at the speed or 5-10 miles above, you're OK. If you're going faster than that, you will be spotted with little or no reaction time to recover. The Southbound trap is much easier to spot, because there is nothing obstructing your view, such as the gradual turn going Northbound. The Southbound trap can be seen from at least a quarter mile away afer passing the Pennsylvania Avenue Eastbound exit.

I drive this route to work everyday. They are more likely to be there during AM/PM rush hour, but I have spotted them at off peak hours every once in a while. There is little recovery time, and they do take photos.
Very rarely will they pull you over at this junction, you will get your ticket in the mail.
