•That's interesting, I have been driving on I-35 to San Marcos for about 3-4 months and I average 83-85 mph everyday...never been pulled over *knock on wood* but have seen a few (not too many) pulling others over.

Highly agree this stretch of 60mph I-35 is typically Lethal. Motorcycle cops all shooting laser! True story on the one shooting laser and the other 5 cops waiting for radio confirmation.

This is an area in which, no matter how heavy traffic is, cops will put you through any kind of danger just to bring in revenue for Austin. The cop will act like he's doing you some good by "warning" you that there's other cops in the area, but he will run you and everyone else through like cattle. What strikes me is that in such a large town (after all, the state's capital), they can't even use radar, but instead use "visual" tracking to alledge your speed.
Even worse, given that I live three hours away from this city, I'm unable to get deferred disposition in Austin- so I'm stuck with this ticket being on my record for three years.
Thanks, Austin. I'll keep you in mind when I write my state legislator about changing state law to allow out of towners the ability to receive deferred disposition without having to appear in court. As well as a law restricting speed traps in areas with high traffic flow.
This is a progressive town, isn't it? Or is this town just another profit center at the out-of-towners' expense?

Was caught in this one today. 3 DPS troopers (two cars and one motor bike) pulled over 3 drivers (one of which was me) at the same time this afternoon driving northbound

They must of cut back. I used to go through that area every morning on my way home from work, and frequently I would see around 10 of them - 1 with the gun, the rest writing tickets
