Supposedly this is reducing traffic accidents. I think its generating revenue. As traffic heads south on that stretch of road, gravity contributes to speed gains. There is no need to cite on this stretch. If they are looking for intentional violators they should sit on the uphill side near Gunther Toody's.

It amazes me how alot, not all, but alot of the people complaining about speed traps are the ones being caught speeding! I drive this section of road twice a day, six days a week. Being a long time arvada resident, I feel safer with more officers. I have seen suspicious activity on my block twice and both times the arvada p.d. responded VERY quickly. And by the way Mr. Camaro, anyone who owns a sports car knows, myself included, that a bad a** car stands out. You just have to get a better radar detector! lol

Arvada added something like 33 cops to meet an "enormous need" over the last couple of years. They cite 100% increases in "crime." Baloney. An increase of 1 incident to 2 in a city with more than 100,000 people does NOT create a true need for "more cops." What it does is allow them to set speed traps all over town.....but we routinely count as many as SEVEN vehicles running a red light, and we NEVER see a cop pulling those people over. We don't need more cops - we need cameras at major intersections.

I agree, but will add that they are selective. They like to pick out sports cars. I was one of 3 doing exactly the same speed. Only one was stopped. That's right, me, in a Z28.

Arvada can devote many, many M/C and motor officers to collecting revenue, because this is much easier than catching serious lawbreakers. They are not just on Wadsworth, but all over the city. Usually with a car e/w radar, etc, but can be any combination .

Yup - I see them sitting there all the time...and typically people are going about 55 - 60 mph in the 45 mph zone.

Arvada is getting so many cops that you see one every block. I don't feel safe I feel controlled.

Nasty trap! Heading S/B from 64th you can't see the spot, as it's obscured by the R.R. track bridge. It's hard to do the limit of 45 heading down that hill!Arvada uses laser, so by the time you see the cop (usually 1 cruiser or 2 bikes), they've got you!

Nasty trap! Usually 1 car or 2 m/c cops. Speed limit is 45. If you're heading S.-bound, the R.R. tracks on the bridge obscure the spot. By the time you drop down to go under the same bridge and see the cop, they've got you!
