Description: Cop sits at the post office or sometimes you can catch him sitting at the Blue Flame Restaurant. Nice cops and no outrageous tickets but they will give them out without thinking twice. You should be able to drive at about 60mph without any problem on that 2 mile stretch but the posted speedlimit is 40mph.

  Wife got nailed there too. They also hide somewhere around Large Hill (Ridge Road and Rt 51). I know a cop from Jefferson and he has told me to watch my speed along that stretch. I think they sit on the overpass on Ridge Rd. and nail people going too fast up the hill in both directions. They also sit on the northbound side of 51 when you come across the Elizabeth Bridge. I have seen them there many times

  This department is engaged in the Pa State smooth operator program. Familiarize yourself with it. You will realize that it has a zero tolerance enforcement standard. Phase four is to follow. Be careful!

  Besides the speed limit violation, you will also be flagged for not wearing a seat belt. The Jefferson Hills police are very strict on this

  Besides the local police, the state has been using radar at cars coming down large hill heading to Pittsburgh. unmarked dark blue sedan. they sit in the empty lot across from the gas station and at the foot of large hill.

  I was actualy clocked by the Toyota dealership, and another officer pulled me over across from Elliots.

  I travel this area as well, and have been tagged once. These lawmen don't fool around, stay within the speed limit in the entire Rt. 51 south area. Sometimes you see them and other times you don't. You've been warned!

  Disregard, the above comment regarding the cops being and letting you do 60 MPH in a 40 MPH zone. I have lived there for 30 years and have personally been ticketed and know at least a dozen others that have also been ticketed in this trap. No warnings, cop will always show up at the magistrates office. Stay under 50 MPH on Rt.51 in Large, PA
