First of all it's not a private parking lot, it's a parking lot used by the general public, so I have a right to be there. I think what you are thinking about is a private gated housing area that's not a part or subject to state highway or county rules. Basically if a roadway has state or county maintenance done on it, it's not a private road. And actually, I'm not sitting in the parking lot to the Crab Boat, I'm actually in the entrance and exit area which actually belongs to state highway. Please don't have someone go to court trying to fight a ticket with no legal bearing. To the other person referring to new troopers as rookies. You are showing your age, we no longer call them rookies, I remember that as a child watching Adam-12. I guess I'm showing my age. (side note: If 228 shuts down we'd just get you somewhere, some other place. Charles Co is a big place, lots of roadways. I'll be seeing you around.

Since last summer when the governor halted the practice because a police officer was killed in doing so, the police can no longer do the "step and stop" maneuver where they step out in front of your car and flag you over. Since then, the stretch of Rt 228 from Davis Road to the Rt 227 intersection has not been used by the rookie state policemen who were looking to get their numbers up.

I have seen them there many time. Stay to the right and let whoever passes you be the poor guy to get caught. 301 beyond LaPlata is very heavily covered as well. I travel that route to the bridge very often. There is a lot of entrapment on 301.

If they are in the Crab Boats parking then contest the ticket, if they don't have written permission from the Crab Boats owner to conduct Police Operations on private property, illegal for them to do so

Definitely westbound on righthand side of road. Most drivers get caught along the straight level road that stretches between Middleton road and a farm type house on the right. MD State Trooper's police unit rear trunk is opened up so that you cannot see the bar lights from a distance. Do not try to pass to often in that area.

Please do the speed limit and pay attention here because they do stepouts (where they walk out onto 228 and in front of you and wave you over).
