Description: After living along this roadway and working in the traffic safety field for almost 30 years, this MOST DEFINITELY IS a speed trap. The speed limit is lowered from 40 MPH to 25 MPH during the entire day while school is in session. It should only be lowered during school admission and dismissal times when the students are in, or immediately adjacent to the roadway and at no other times. As a matter of fact, when it was first installed, there were no warning signs advising the motorist of the speed reduction until I and many other drivers called the County to complain about it being a speed trap.

It is not a speed trap, it is clearly marked and it is a school zone. I have people pass me like it is the freeway.

This school zone is clearly marked with speed limit and flashing yellow lights. The Charles County Sheriff's office does a great job in our county. This is not a speed trap; it is well marked. People who ignore the warnings deserve to be stopped.

Glad to hear that they are enforcing school zones. It's a shame people don't think about the kids and slow down.

Definitely one to look out for. I pass there regularly. I don't have a problem because it is a school zone, but I see alot of teenagers flying through there when the police aren't around.
