Description: Speed limit is only 40 miles per hour then it drops to 35 mph, suddenly next to the school. The speed limit on this parkway is way too low, most people go 55 to 65+ here. No one slows down at this speed change, but beware of the cop who sits just east of this area!

  People do drive 55+ to 65+ but the posted speed on the parkway is posted 45mph from end to end with the school in the middle at 35mph. This is not a true parkway like the R-51 it is a six lane road parkways in Arizona do not have stop lights on them! So Slow Down.

  I received a speeding ticket a few weeks ago at 8:15 pm going west on Greenway Parkway at 12th street. I was truly driving in sync with a truck in the inside lane and a mini van in the center lane (I was in the outside lane) I was the lucky one chosen for the ticket! It was the ONE time in 3 months that I drove my husband's bright yellow RX8. I honestly thought I was driving with the flow of traffic. The motorcycle officer caught me on radar going 64. Heading west before 7th street it is very easy to gain some speed. No businesses, or houses, and side streets. But once you pass 7th street I can see how you may tend to speed up again.

  They do park on Radar Picture taking Van, across the street from the school, on the North side of Greenway, quite often You will get a mailed ticket if you are speeding.
  
  There are No Flashing School Signs. The few signs that are up, are hidden by trees.

  Usually a motorcycle cop is hiding in the turnoff just before 7th ave. on the right hand side, heading west. Heading east, they like to hide in the little frontage area just after the school area. On the right hand side, it blends well with the houses and other vehicles.

  Speed limit is actually 45, slows to 35 mph near school, as do all speed limits near schools in the area, which they should. I've never been stopped at 50 mph, but 55+ is more the common traveling speed for others. It isn't actually Greenway Parkway - people use it as Greenway Speedway & shouldn't.

  i have seen an unmarked thunderbird lurking on the eastbound side of greenway just east of 7th street

  Be extra careful through this area. Actually more from 7th ave to 19th ave. Remember you can get a criminal ticket if you are going 25+ mph and this is the place to get it. I have seen several motorcycle cops sitting in side streets. I have been lucky so far, but I agree the speed limit is far too slow for having 6 lanes and no lights and long sweeping curves.
