Speed Trap at 116th Street, Carmel, IN
- Carmel, IN

- Latitude: 39.9562
- Longitude: -86.1576
- Description: Several motorcycle LEO's are sitting and picking off drivers right at the 5pm rush hour. They just opened up the 4 lanes on 116th, so I was not even sure of the speed limit (it's 30mph). All traffic is generally going 45-55. I got nailed at 50mph.

Speed limit has been raised to 35 mph from Hazel Dell to 116th. Enforcement to become more strict. No leeway.

All of Carmel is a speed trap at 30 MPH, regardless if it is a 4 lane divided highway or not. If the citizens of Carmel would band together and go to the city council enmass and say "Enough is enough. Set realistic speed limits on main thourofares" They would have to change them. When the voters say we will not put up with it anymore, it will be changed. Right now they are making too much money from fines to care about John Q Citizen.

Between Collage Ave. and Rangeline for sure. He was standing in the median with a hand held radar. Only he had a car this time. Thought he was a drunk at first stumbling around till he waved me to pull over. Needed a green reflectivr vest so as not to be run over playing in live busy traffic.

Everything around here is 30 mph. The street I work on has a sign calling it a highway and right next to that is a 30 mph sign. What kind of highway is that!?

Since the construction on 116th is done, CPD is just picking people off going over the incredibly slow 30mph on this dual/divided road.
