The reason I didn't return was Baggs is a long way from Georgia and it would have cost more to get back than pay the ticket.•

Baggs is the worst. In over 30 years of driving, I had never had a moving violation, until passing through Baggs. Approaching town from the south, you'll enter the 'city' limits after coming down a small grade. Better slow down to less than 3 MPH above the posted limit or you are setting yourself up for a ticket. The only plus - I sent the ticket to a lady judge in Carbon county and she reduced it to a parking violation (after payment of their fee). Go figure! JJ•

Your experience was one that was with a not so good quality officer. I am very familiar with this area and the town had some poor offiers working there for a long time. The area is well marked for speed, with very large signs, and the highway passes directly in the middle of town. With the information you had you would have certainly had the ticket dismissed in court. Why would you contact the sheriff if you received a ticket through a municipality police department? Personally I would have gone to court prepared and had the ticket thrown out, thus raising question on other citations issued.•
