Description: On the Haleiwa Bypass north bound the police sit at the side street, Emerson Road and ticket the unsuspecting motorist where the speed limit abruptly changes from 45 to 35mph, for no other reason but to generate revenue.

    It's a speed trap, it really is. They nail you after the 35 marker. to go 35 you have to ride your brakes, it's all down hill. the speed limit should be 45 to 50. The least they could do is put lights on the road. The signs are stained with red dirt and not very visable, or why not stop you up the hill so you are not hit with a large fine. Most people drive well. Go after the racers. let the normal person make a mistake, they don't have to hurt them.

    This is a very horrible speed trap and there are always cops hiding there on the right side of the road, you can't see them until you come up on the hill and the speed has already changed to 35 so its to late. Ive been ticketed 4 times here and know numerous other people with multiple tickets in the same place.
