If they lived in Chapin or attended church in Chapin or their kids went to school in Chapin they might not treat the residents with such disdain. They don't stay long, so no one ever gets to know them except when they light you up.

Now that school is out for the summer, the Chapin cops are hiding in the lower entrance to Chapin High. It's right at the bottom of a hill, so they'll get you coasting downhill from either direction. 20 years ago, Chapin had one cop and had been there for many years. He was strict, but he was fair. The ones there now don't live in the community and have no connection with the residents. That allows them to give out plenty of tickets and be rude and arrogant.

I have to agree that I hear Chapin Police border line harrassment and are very rude. I have never lived anywhere that I hear so many complaits about a towns Police Dept. From what I hear they issue maximum tickets. I just hope this does not deture good people from moving to this area. They are only hurting the towns reputation. I'm all for abiding by the Law but they take it to extremes.

What happened to all the other posts on Chapin speedtraps. Did the local cops object to the truth and get them removed?
